Here's how I got my HP 1018 laserjet printer to work. Download and install the latest supported driver from HP. First, you'll need to get the latest drivers for all of the officially supported HP printers for macOS. Not from HP, but from Apple. Navigate with Safari to the driver download. Use Finder to navigate to your downloads. Download the latest drivers, firmware, and software for your HP LaserJet 1018 Printer.This is HP’s official website that will help automatically detect and download the correct drivers free of cost for your HP Computing and Printing products for Windows and Mac operating system. For newer printers (HP LaserJet Pro, HP LaserJet Enterprise, HP LaserJet Managed, HP PageWide, etc.), go to 123.hp.com to get the latest drivers. Note: For Deskjet, ENVY, Officejet, Photosmart, or PSC printers, go to macOS and OS X Compatible Printers. For an older HP LaserJet printer, the driver for 10.15 might be available on HP.com or it might not be supported. Check the list of Older HP printers with MacOS drivers. The AirPrint-capable printers in this document are also compatible with other cloud printing and mobile solutions.
